Some couples just bring an energy that makes a session unforgettable, and Emma and Mikey were exactly that. From the moment we met up at Historic Locust Grove, I knew this shoot was going to be one to remember. They are not only one of the most loving couples I’ve worked with, but also one of the wittiest. Their playful banter and natural chemistry made each shot come to life.

We chose Locust Grove as our location, and it couldn’t have been a better pick. All three of us laughed about how we’d visited the historic site on elementary school field trips, but seeing it now as adults, we appreciated its beauty in a whole new way. The towering trees and open spaces were the perfect backdrop, and we spent the day wandering through the grounds, capturing moments that felt straight out of a movie.

The trees at Locust Grove really stole the show—offering the perfect blend of shade and atmosphere, giving each shot a cinematic feel. But the real stars, of course, were Emma and Mikey. Whether they were joking around or simply holding each other close, they made every moment feel real and effortless. It was clear from the start how much fun they have together, and that energy translated into some of my favorite photos ever.

By the time we wrapped up the session, I couldn’t stop smiling. Emma and Mikey’s joy, humor, and love for each other made the whole experience such a blast. Shooting at Historic Locust Grove with this incredible couple felt more like hanging out with friends than a photoshoot.
